Э Л И Т А is Cyrillic. Read as ELITA, the word translates to ELITE in English.

But the name was never chosen simply because of what it means.

My Mexican-American heritage is part of who I am, but my curiosity has never stopped at one culture or one border. Since childhood, I was drawn to history, architecture, movement and places far outside my immediate surroundings. While other kids were watching cartoons, I was often watching the History Channel and Travel Channel, trying to understand how people lived, how cities were built, and how different cultures developed their own visual identities.

Breaking opened that world even further. B-boy culture introduced me to an international community where language and geography mattered less than movement, originality and respect. Through it, places that once seemed distant became connected.

Eastern Europe in particular always held my attention — Cyrillic typography, brutalist architecture, Cold War history, underground culture, fashion, music and the stark visual language that came from that part of the world. It became one influence among many that stayed with me long before Э Л И Т А existed.

Today, those influences are beginning to connect in real life.

Э Л И Т А was built in Texas, but its first movements have already crossed borders — from supporting a b-boy event in Monterrey, Mexico, to building a creative relationship with Belarusian artist Keelse, who trusted the vision and allowed her music to become part of the world we are creating, with more work still to come.

That is what the name represents to me.

Not one country.
Not one culture.
Not one city.

A world built from everything that shaped the eye.
